2. Eligibility (TUJ ⇒ Musashi)
While the final acceptance decision will be made by Musashi U., TUJ students who wish to participate in this program first must meet Temple University's standard criteria of "Permission to Take Courses at Another Institution." The Academic Advising Center (AAC) is responsible to review and approve the permission request.
Some courses, but not all, offered at Musashi U. require highly developed proficiency in Japanese language. Courses that require Japanese language proficiency are to be determined by Musashi U. every semester. When interested in these courses, TUJ students whose native language is other than Japanese thus must demonstrate their proficiency by one of the following means:
- Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT), Level 1 (N1);
- Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU), 240 or higher in Japanese and 4 or higher in essay, or;
- J.TEST A-D Level, 700 or higher
In order to be eligible for the program, TUJ student must meet one of the following criteria:
- 2.1. A student currently must enroll as a degree-seeking student at TUJ, and must have completed at least one semester at TUJ;
- 2.2. A student must be enrolled as an approved Study Abroad (exchange) student from a third institution based on an agreement or arrangement between Temple University and their home institution.
Students in category 2.2 may participate in the program under the conditions specified in 3.1.
