We are excited to offer University-sponsored housing options designed to make your transition to life in Kyoto stress-free. TUJ has handled all the complexities of securing an apartment, including fees, key money, deposits, cleaning fees, contracts, paperwork, utilities, and Internet. All you need to do is apply for housing, and you’ll be ready to enjoy Kyoto and the Kansai region of Japan.
We offer three tiers of single-occupancy rooms, each with unique features and pricing. Leo Palace offers the most size, Mukaijima Gakusei Center is the most affordable, and the brand-new Fastate Kyoto Station and Owl Nest properties are somewhere in between.
1. Leo Palace Mitsuida
- Large fully furnished executive apartment with all essentials including TV, washer, fridge, microwave, and more.
- 26 sqm (269 sq ft) or nearly double the size of our Tokyo dorms.
- Includes: rent, utilities, high-speed Wi-Fi, keyless entry, and secure building.
- Commute to TUJ: 10-15 min. by bike, 30 min. by bus/train, or 32 min. walking
2. Fastate Kyoto Station Woz
- Modern, brand-new furnished apartments about a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station with all essentials including washer, fridge, and microwave.
- 21 sqm (226 sq ft) and larger than our Tokyo dorms
- Includes: rent, fees, utilities, high-speed Wi-Fi, and secure building access.
- Commute to TUJ Kyoto: 21 mins by train.
3. Mukaijima Gakusei Center
- International student residence (private apartments) with cultural programs, common spaces, and students from Kyoto area universities.
- Includes: rents, fees, utilities, high-speed Wi-Fi, 24/7 security, a recreation room, study rooms, and full-service student services office.
- 20 sqm (215 sq ft) and larger than our Tokyo dorms
- Commute to TUJ Kyoto: 36 mins by train
4. Owl Nest A and B
- Modern, brand-new furnished apartments with all essentials including washer, fridge, and microwave.
- 5 min walk from the entrance to TUJ Kyoto campus
- 1 min walk away from Fujinomori Station.

Because of the convenience and amenities, we recommend these housing options for short-term study abroad students at TUJ Kyoto.
