Although parents, guardians, spouses, and others may have an interest in your education records, it is the policy of Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ) not to disclose your education records to third parties without your express written consent. It is TUJ policy to comply with the confidentiality requirements for personal information established under Japanese law.
"Education records" are defined to include all records maintained by TUJ about you such as your enrollment information, contact information, transcripts, financial records, advising records, academic progress records, disciplinary records, and other personal records. It does not include employment or medical records.
TUJ is a member of the Temple University system, meaning that we will share your information with our main campus in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This is necessary for the maintenance of educational records and administrative databases, issuance of transcripts and degrees, as well as the other academic-related matters. The policy of our main campus with respect to confidentiality and inspection of student records is found on Temple University's website at: http://policies.temple.edu/ferpa.
TUJ will also disclose education records or information from education records without consent as required or expressly permitted by law. For example, TUJ will release, without consent, information from educational records to appropriate persons in an emergency.
You may voluntarily choose to complete and submit the Educational Records Release (ERR) Form to TUJ to allow us to release your educational records to the individuals listed on the form.
Submission Process
- Submit the request form below with your TUID (your 9 digit number starting with 9 on your TUJ student ID card) and family name.
- If successful, you will receive a message in your TUmail account with a link to the ERR Form.
- Click on the link in the e-mail and fill out the ERR Form.
- Submit the ERR Form.
