This is a preparatory course for the paper-based TOEFL ITP Test designed for students aiming to apply to Temple University, Japan Campus’s (TUJ) Undergraduate, Law School, and Graduate College of Education. Although the scores of the two TOEFL ITP Tests included in this course can only be used to apply to undergraduate or graduate programs at TUJ, anyone can take this course. Because each program requires a different score on TOEFL ITP Test, this course offers two classes, one aiming for a score of 500 and higher and the other for a score of 550 and higher.

COURSE CONTENT
The objective of this course is to achieve a higher score on the TOEFL ITP Test. To do so, students will learn the basic structure of the TOEFL ITP Test and the types of questions that are asked in each section (1. Listening, 2. Structure & Written Expression, 3. Reading). Students will solve questions by themselves, and the instructor will explain the reasoning behind the correct and incorrect answers to help the students deepen understanding of English.
This course will meet 8 times on Saturdays, with 6 class days and 2 days for taking actual TOEFL ITP Tests. (Examination fees are included in the course fee.) The TOEFL ITP Test scores from the two exams will be accepted as formal scores to apply to the Undergraduate and Graduate Programs of TUJ.

INDIVIDUAL GUIDANCE
Individual guidance is given outside of the classroom hours during the course. Each student receives 1-2 sessions about the class content and assignments for 10-15 minutes before or after the start of classes, at times arranged between the student and the instructor.
Note: There will be no make-up of the individual guidance for those who miss it.
STUDENT COMMENTS
The strategies of answering questions were well explained with specific examples. The explanation was easy to understand and was very useful.
The instructor taught us how to study English, and I think my English skills also improved.
Taking the course online enabled me to save the commuting time and use the time more wisely. I thought it was more comfortable and even easier to take classes online because we were able to share documents on the screen while talking.
