Research your options

Look through the study abroad options listed above to see what you're interested in. There are numerous factors to consider when selecting a study abroad program, so it's critical to look through what's available and see how they might fit your needs.

Look for financial opportunities

There are numerous costs associated with studying abroad, but Temple University can assist you in financing your time abroad. TUJ students can use the Continuing Students Scholarship to help cover tuition costs while abroad, and Education Abroad has scholarships available to help cover the cost of your summer, semester, or year abroad. 

 

Meet with your academic advisor

Your academic advisor is the best resource for laying out your study abroad strategy and determining how it fits into your overall academic plan. They can help you determine the best time to study abroad and keep you on track to graduate on time.

Meet with the Study Abroad Coordinator

The Study Abroad Coordinator can help you determine which program best meets your needs, guide you through the application process, and provide pre-departure, post-departure, and returnee support.

Study Abroad Advising

Students interested in studying abroad can seek assistance from TUJ's Study Abroad Coordinator, who can help students learn more about studying abroad, select the best program based on their academic, professional, and personal goals, and assist with applications. They also provide pre- and post-departure support.  

You can meet with the Study Abroad Coordinator virtually or in-person:

2.    In-person Walk-In: The Study Abroad Coordinator is available to meet in the Office of Student Services and Engagement (Room 104) from 9 AM to 5:30 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Students are also encouraged to meet with an academic advisor at the Academic Advising Center to discuss how studying abroad fits into their academic plan and ensure that the credits earned abroad will properly fulfill their Temple degree requirements.

Studying abroad is a great way to explore the world, but it’s also a great chance to make connections along the way. Temple’s Global Engagement & Support Programs give you opportunities to build friendships, share your story, and support fellow students across our campuses in Philadelphia and Tokyo.
